بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
77:1 ›
وَٱلۡمُرۡسَلَـٰتِ عُرۡفࣰا ۝١
Abdel Haleem
By the [winds] sent forth in swift succession
Sahl al-Tustari

By those sent forth in succession;By this is meant the angels who are sent with the good (maʿrūf) of His command (amr).He said:In its inner meaning it refers to the spirits (arwāḥ) of the believers which are sent inspiration (ilhām) in accordance with the Book and the Sunna.

فَٱلۡمُلۡقِیَـٰتِ ذِكۡرًا ۝٥

By those that deliver the reminder, This is the revelation (waḥy) through inspiration (ilhām) which the spiritual self (nafs al-rūḥ), the intellect (ʿaql) and the heart (qalb) cast upon the natural self (nafs al-ṭabʿ), and this is the hidden form of reminder (dhikr khafiyy).

Woe to the deniers of that Day!He said:Woe on that day to those who make claims that have no truth [in them], for their claims will deny them publicly before [many] witnesses. This will occur at the time of exposure (iftiḍāḥ).His words, Exalted is He:

وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝١٩

Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth

أَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقكُّم مِّن مَّاۤءࣲ مَّهِینࣲ ۝٢٠

Did We not make you from an underrated flui
77:21 ›
فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ فِی قَرَارࣲ مَّكِینٍ ۝٢١
Abdel Haleem
which We housed in a safe lodgin
77:22 ›
إِلَىٰ قَدَرࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ ۝٢٢
Abdel Haleem
for a determined period
77:23 ›
فَقَدَرۡنَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡقَـٰدِرُونَ ۝٢٣

We determine [it]: how excellently We determine
77:24 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝٢٤

Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth
77:25 ›
أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ كِفَاتًا ۝٢٥

Did We not make the earth a hom
77:26 ›
أَحۡیَاۤءࣰ وَأَمۡوَ ٰتࣰا ۝٢٦
Abdel Haleem
for the living and the dead
77:27 ›
وَجَعَلۡنَا فِیهَا رَوَ ٰسِیَ شَـٰمِخَـٰتࣲ وَأَسۡقَیۡنَـٰكُم مَّاۤءࣰ فُرَاتࣰا ۝٢٧

Did We not place firm, lofty mountains on it and provide you with sweet water
77:28 ›
وَیۡلࣱ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِینَ ۝٢٨

Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth
77:29 ›
ٱنطَلِقُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝٢٩

They will be told, ‘Go to that which you used to deny

هَـٰذَا یَوۡمُ لَا یَنطِقُونَ ۝٣٥

On that Day they will be speechless.He said:Nobody will speak for himself by [presenting an] argument (bi-ḥujja), unless it be by the exhibitingof helplessness (ʿajz) and servanthood (ʿubūdiyya), and by refraining from infringements [of the Law] (mukhālafāt) and crimes (jarāʾim).His words, Exalted is He:
