بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
67:1 ›
۞ تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِی بِیَدِهِ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرٌ ۝١
Abdel Haleem
Exalted is He who holds all control in His hands; who has power over all things
Abd al-Razzaq al-Kashani

Blessed is He in whose hand is the kingdom, and He is powerful over everything. The kingdom of the 18,000 worlds is in His hand. The heads of all the headmen are in the grasp of His predetermination, the necks of all the proud wear the collar of His subjection, the forelocks of all the tyrants are acquiescent to the severity of His all-compellingness. It has come in a report, “'I am the King. The hearts and the forelocks of the kings are in My hand, and I make them fluctuate as I will.' I am the king, I am king over all kings. Exalting and abasing the servants is in My hand. The hearts of the world's folk are in My grasp. I turn them any way I want and I drive their secret cores according to My desire. If I want, I call them and make them laugh. If I want, I drive them away and make them weep. “O you who are the world's folk! Do not busy your breasts because of kings and do not attach your hearts to them. Attach your hearts to My religion, trust in My generosity, and turn your face to the threshold of obedience to Me. Serve the religion so that this world may follow you. Serve the King of kings, so that the kings of this world may serve you.” Serve Him so that kings may serve you, be His boy and the sultan will be your servant. The kingdom of human nature is one thing, the kingdom of the heart another, and the kingdom of the spirit still another. Human nature runs the kingdom in this world, the heart runs the kingdom in the next world, and the spirit runs the kingdom in the World of the Haqiqah. The kingdom of human nature is this: Surely the life of this world is but play, diversion, and adornment [57:20]. The kingdom of the heart is this: He loves them, and they love Him [5:54]. The kingdom of the spirit is this: Faces that day will radiant, gazing upon their Lord [75:22-23]. That exalted man of the road said, “Tomorrow when the banner of His magnificence is raised at the resurrection-Whose is the kingdom? [40:16]-with His permission I will open up a door in the corner of my heart and give out some of my pain for Him.

who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You will not see any flaw in what the Lord of Mercy creates. Look again! Can you see any flaw

ثُمَّ ٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ كَرَّتَیۡنِ یَنقَلِبۡ إِلَیۡكَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ خَاسِئࣰا وَهُوَ حَسِیرࣱ ۝٤

67:5 ›
وَلَقَدۡ زَیَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا بِمَصَـٰبِیحَ وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهَا رُجُومࣰا لِّلشَّیَـٰطِینِۖ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِیرِ ۝٥

We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps and made them [missiles] for stoning devils for whom We have also prepared the torment of a blazing fire

إِذَاۤ أُلۡقُوا۟ فِیهَا سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا شَهِیقࣰا وَهِیَ تَفُورُ ۝٧

تَكَادُ تَمَیَّزُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَیۡظِۖ كُلَّمَاۤ أُلۡقِیَ فِیهَا فَوۡجࣱ سَأَلَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَاۤ أَلَمۡ یَأۡتِكُمۡ نَذِیرࣱ ۝٨
Abdel Haleem
almost bursting with rage. Its keepers will ask every group that is thrown in, ‘Did no one come to warn you?’

قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ قَدۡ جَاۤءَنَا نَذِیرࣱ فَكَذَّبۡنَا وَقُلۡنَا مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَیۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ كَبِیرࣲ ۝٩
Abdel Haleem
They will reply, ‘Yes, a warner did come to us, but we did not believe him. We said, “God has revealed nothing: you are greatly misguided”.’

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةࣱ وَأَجۡرࣱ كَبِیرࣱ ۝١٢

But there is forgiveness and a great reward for those who fear their Lord though they cannot see Him
67:13 ›
وَأَسِرُّوا۟ قَوۡلَكُمۡ أَوِ ٱجۡهَرُوا۟ بِهِۦۤۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِیمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ۝١٣
Abdel Haleem
Whether you keep your words secret or state them openly, He knows the contents of every heart
67:14 ›
أَلَا یَعۡلَمُ مَنۡ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِیفُ ٱلۡخَبِیرُ ۝١٤

How could He who created not know His own creation, when He is the Most Subtle, the All Aware
67:15 ›
هُوَ ٱلَّذِی جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ ذَلُولࣰا فَٱمۡشُوا۟ فِی مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزۡقِهِۦۖ وَإِلَیۡهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ ۝١٥
Abdel Haleem
It is He who has made the earth manageable for you––travel its regions; eat His provision- and to Him you will be resurrected
67:16 ›
ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ أَن یَخۡسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَإِذَا هِیَ تَمُورُ ۝١٦

Are you sure that He who is in Heaven will not make the earth swallow you up with a violent shudder

أَوَ لَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّیۡرِ فَوۡقَهُمۡ صَـٰۤفَّـٰتࣲ وَیَقۡبِضۡنَۚ مَا یُمۡسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَیۡءِۭ بَصِیرٌ ۝١٩
Abdel Haleem
Do they not see the birds above them spreading and closing their wings? It is only the Lord of Mercy who holds them up: He watches over everything

أَمَّنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی هُوَ جُندࣱ لَّكُمۡ یَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِۚ إِنِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِی غُرُورٍ ۝٢٠

أَمَّنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی یَرۡزُقُكُمۡ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَ رِزۡقَهُۥۚ بَل لَّجُّوا۟ فِی عُتُوࣲّ وَنُفُورٍ ۝٢١

Who can provide for you if He withholds His provision? Yet they persist in their insolence and their avoidance of the Truth

أَفَمَن یَمۡشِی مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجۡهِهِۦۤ أَهۡدَىٰۤ أَمَّن یَمۡشِی سَوِیًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَ ٰطࣲ مُّسۡتَقِیمࣲ ۝٢٢
Abdel Haleem
Who is better guided: someone who falls on his face, or someone who walks steadily on a straight path

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَنشَأَكُمۡ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡءِدَةَۚ قَلِیلࣰا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ ۝٢٣

Say [Prophet], ‘It is He who brought you into being, He who endowed you with hearing, sight, and understanding- what small thanks you give!’

فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ زُلۡفَةࣰ سِیۤءَتۡ وُجُوهُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقِیلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَ ۝٢٧
Abdel Haleem
When they see it close at hand, the disbelievers’ faces will be gloomy, and it will be said, ‘This is what you were calling for.’
